The Verandah offers the perfect mix of outdoor activity and relaxation on pristine white-sand beaches, in refreshing pools, or participating in any of the plenty of outdoor sports both in the water and on shore. And our Younger guests are sure to enjoy fun and games at the Kid's Club.
Guests can also enjoy a short walk to the nearby historic Devil's Bridge attraction for excellent photo opportunities. The uninhabited island sanctuaries of Green Island and Bird Island also are accessible by a short boat ride.
Sightseeing, dining and shopping in historic St. John's are only 30 minutes from the resort by car, as is Antigua's international airport.
Beach and poolside
The Verandah Resort & Spa lies adjacent to a National Park and its grounds incorporate marked nature trails, two beaches and tranquil waters on a protected covelike bay with crystal-clear waters.
The resort's expansive, shimmering free-form pool is the largest on the island and is a great spot for lounging in the sun or enjoying a cooling dip.
With its two soft, white-sand beaches, Verandah guests can soak up the sun on our comfortable beach loungers and cool down with frequent dips in the crystal clear waters of the Caribbean. The tranquil, protected cove-like bay makes it perfect for swimming and snorkeling.
While at the beach, The Verandah offers complimentary non-motorised water sports, including windsurfing, Sunfish sailing, snorkeling, kayaking, and hobie-style catamaran sailing and paddle boats. All of the equipment can be found at the Water Sports Centre and if you're new at any of the sports, instructors are ready to help you get on your way.

Tucked into a quiet corner of the The Verandah is the Tennis Center, with two flood-lit tennis courts. For those who’d like a few pointers while on holiday, our onsite Tennis pro, will be happy to put a new spin on your game with private lessons.
Tranquility Spa is an expansive and elegantly appointed hideaway for pampering, restorative treatments for the body and skin. Surrounded by French doors that let in the light and beautiful outdoor views, the décor is serene, with natural elements such as rattan, sea grass, wood and cool, glowing white tile.
Tranquility Spa offers three well-appointed massage rooms that offer private bathrooms and showers and a lovely facial room. A carefully considered menu of tension-beating treatments will leave guests feeling refreshed and recharged.
Tranquility Spa also offers a full-service hair salon, so guests can look their best for a special day, or just for the fun of it.
The Verandah's spacious onsite gym, features an array of cardio, treadmills, weight-training machines and free-weight equipment to help keep your routine on track while you're on holiday. You can keep an eye on your form with full-length, floor-to-ceiling mirrors, and fluffy towels and chilled water is provided at the gym.
For those who want to really explore beneath the surface, diving is available at our sister resort, St James's Club which offers guests excursions to more than 20 dive sites. Diving sites include Cades Reef, part of an underwater park, and the wreck of the Andes, a three-mast merchant ship that sank more than a century ago.
Golfers can perfect their strokes at two 18-hole courses. The Cedar Valley Golf Course, designed by Ralph Aldridge, is an 18-hole, 6,157 yard, par-70 course with beautiful greens and sweeping views of the surrounding hilltops and the Caribbean sea.
Whilst the 5,587 yard, par-71 Karl Litton-designed Jolly Harbor Golf Club course offers more challenging play and a lovely setting, with seven lakes and hilly fairways surrounded by tropical greenery.
